What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Hiring our facilities

You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.

We assess each application on a case-by-case basis. Find out more at Using school facilities.

If you’re interested in hiring our facilities, contact us for details.

Excursion eligibility

Peel High School has implemented this policy to improve the behaviours and attendance of students, therefore improving students' application and learning outcomes.

This policy has consequences for students who are:

  • on either level 1 or 2 or
  • have an attendance level below 85% with more than 5 unexplained absences in the 10 weeks prior to the excursion.

These consequences include:

  • inability to attend non- compulsory excursions;
  • exclusion from year days; and
  • exclusion from school discos.
  • inability to play in school sporting teams

As per Peel High School policies students who have paid deposits, or part thereof, for excursions may not be able to have any money refunded if their behaviour or attendance is unacceptable.

Parents will be notified if students are placed on a level by the classroom teacher or Head Teacher.

Whenever your child or ward is not at school it is a Department of Education and Communities requirement that the absences are explained within 7 school days. Absences not explained after 7 days will be deemed unjustified

There will be regular reminders in the school newsletter and at school assemblies. Permission notes will now contain this information.

If you have any questions regarding the policy please contact the school.
