Principal's message

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Website of Peel High School. I hope you will gain a sense of what a very special school this is; a place that is a dynamic, progressive and vibrant learning community.

We are a comprehensive High School for Years 7-12 catering for a vast range of interests and abilities. The most recent change to the school came with the announcement that Peel High School was to become a partially selective school from 2008. Premier Nathan Rees and Education Minister Verity Firth used Peel as the venue to announce the expansion of the Selective Schools program.

We offer a comprehensive and challenging curriculum which caters to the needs and interests of our students. Our team of experienced and dedicated teachers focuses upon quality teaching with a more recent emphasis upon strategies to address the needs of gifted and talented students.

The school prides itself on having a well developed pastoral care system. This system is supported by a Learning Support team, year advisers, School Counsellor and School Chaplain. Our school promotes positive values including Integrity, Responsibility, Respect, Cooperation, Participation, Care, Fairness and Democracy.

Peel High School enjoys close ties with the local community which enables the school to provide additional opportunities for students. It is well supported by an active parent body and the business community and liaises extensively with local primary schools and TAFE.

Our direction into the future continues to be on quality teaching to improve overall academic achievements through the explicit teaching of twenty-first century mindsets, capabilities and learning habits. Our focus is to prepare our students for life and the workforce, to become global citizens in an ever changing world.

I am very proud to be leading Peel High School . Thank you for showing an interest in our school.
