SPORT AT PEEL HIGH SCHOOL
Our school has strong academic, cultural and sporting opportunities for our students. Physical activity plays an integral role in the development of our young children for their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
The Peel High Sport Program is aimed at positively shaping young people to become engaged in their communities and to lead happy, rewarding lives through a lifelong connection to physical activity and health.
Students of Peel High School are required to be actively involved in the school's sporting program during the years they attend the school. This involvement is necessary for students to satisfy requirements for the award of the ROSA, and of the Higher School Certificate. School sport occurs on a Wednesday afternoon from 1pm to 3pm. Students also have the opportunity to participate in out-of-hours town competitions, both during the week and on the weekend.
The sporting program is such that over the junior school (Years 7-10) students will have the opportunity of learning skills in team sports, individual sports and recreational sports. Senior students (Years 11 and 12) will also have the opportunity to develop further skills in sports previously experienced.
For within-school sport all pupils will be assigned to a house:
FRASER Blue
MENINGA Gold
GOOLAGONG Red
BORDER Green
In addition to the sports program there will be opportunities provided throughout the year for students to represent Peel High in local inter-school sports as well as State Knockout Competitions and State Representative selection trials.
Peel High School has excelled in student representative selections, evidenced by the selection of students in NSW CHS, North West and Arinya Zone teams for a variety of sports.
