Peel High Student Representative Council (SRC)

At Peel High School we acknowledge that the school benefits from a strong and responsible student voice. We believe that students should be given the opportunity to have input on decisions, voice concerns and make suggestions as well as having a role in the wider community.

The SRC is led by a team of Senior Leaders from the current Year 12 cohort, driven by the Captains and Vice Captains elected by the wider student body. The remaining SRC members are elected in early Term 1 each year from all year groups within the school. SRC representatives can also hold badges within the AECG (Aboriginal Student Delegates).

The SRC is involved in a wide range of school and community events throughout the year. Our focus is on enhancing the learning environment for all students by contributing to school beautification projects and running initiatives aiming to increase the cohesiveness of the whole student body. The SRC runs most of the BBQ’s held both at the school and off-site during swimming and athletics carnivals. We are also a very significant body in terms of fundraising, attempting to donate regularly to important local charities through money raised by such events as Milkshake Days and school discos. The SRC has a particularly close arrangement with the RSL sub-branch in Tamworth, assisting in fundraising and other community activities.

The SRC holds regular monthly meetings to discuss issues and upcoming events. The students are the driving force behind all SRC led events and their contribution to the school body is extremely valued by all in our community.

If you have any questions about the SRC, please do not hesitate to contact the SRC Coordinator’s Miss Casey Barnett (HSIE Faculty) and Miss Melissa Gunn (English Faculty).
